INTRODUCTION

This two day, standards based training course covers all the basic skills, terminology and applications to successfully install and test Molex Premise Networks Structured Cabling products to the required specifications of Molex Premise Networks’ 25 Year Global System Warranty. This training course covers all technology up to and including Category6A.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Transmission Theory: Overview of basic principles of signal transmission over a communications medium

History and Standards Overview: An overview of the development of structured cabling and standards

Cable Types: Metallic and non-metallic, shielded and unshielded cables

Cable and Site Preparation: Support infrastructure; Preparation of the site and cables; Labelling, etc.

Planning and Installation: Site surveys - Determining optimum positioning of equipment.

Testing: Basic troubleshooting of link components.

Documentation: Proper documentation & commissioning.

MIIM: Physical Infrastructure Management
